Wolfgang Tillmans Exhibition

Earlier this year I attended the Wolfgang Tillman exhibition which displayed a range of Tillman’s work ranging from portraits to groundbreaking pieces explaining extreme political issues.

Wolfgang Tillmans is a German artist who was the first non-British person to receive the Tate annual Turner Prize. He studied at the Bournemouth and Poole college of art and design before moving around the world to live and work.

I was not that familiar with Tillmans’ wok before attending this exhibition, however it is clear to see that his work is driven by political, sexual and societal issues, in the form of aesthetically pleasing yet sometimes abstract photos. Below I have included three very different photos by Tillmans to show the grand variety of his work:
